Joshua Rodriguez, of New York City, was arrested Sunday by Greenwich Police after they were called to a Greenwich Avenue store and told that a handbag worth $2,150, had been hidden behind an AC unit and was most likely stolen, said the Greenwich Police.
Officers set up visual surveillance of the handbag and watched as Rodriguez retrieved it from its spot and hide it in his jacket, police said.
When approached by officers, Rodriguez admitted he had stolen the item and planned on selling it for a profit.
He was charged with larceny and was released after posting a $1,000 bond. Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 28.
